Horseshoes & Antelopes

We just returned from a long, but great and exciting day on our Pink Jeep Tour https://www.pinkadventuretours.com/sedona-tours/antelope-canyon-and-horseshoe-bend-tour/

with Orlando, a friendly and funny storyteller who grew up on a Najavo Reservation. We started out at 7:00 am... onward to Page. We drove to Flagstaff, making a pit stop at the gas station near Flagstaff Airport. Next up was Vermillion Cliff and Mabel Canyon where we were able to shop at a few stands showcasing Native American jewelry and crafts. We also drove through the Painted Desert ...

Next was the Horseshoe Bend - a 0.6 mile walk in from the parking lot in the hot sun felt like a pilgrimage of sorts. Many came to admire this unique, thousand foot drop view of the Colorado River. Can you spot the boat in the third picture? 👀

Next up was enjoying our bagged lunches provided by the tour at Glen Canyon Dam.

Now for Antelope Canyon (a natural slot canyon approx 30 miles in length) ... a natural, wonderous site that only pictures can help begin to describe. We walked along a red clay desert and down a stairwell about 120 feet down into the Earth. Cue the Indiana Jones theme song 🎶 Crazy and interesting tidbits about this place here- http://justfunfacts.com/interesting-facts-about-antelope-canyon/

Thanks to Emmett, our tech-savvy photographer guide who introduced all sorts of helpful hints to help us take National Geographic-like photos! 📸 Well, we think so ... you be the judge!

The photos look professionally done, nice job! The Colorado River looks calm from that distance, can you raft down it?
